Wei Xiaobao, born in a prostitute in Yangzhou in the early Qing dynasty, saves Mao Shiba by a sudden bravery. At that time, Mao Shiba is a hero in jianghu but meets with a misfortune. Being used by Xiang Wentian, Linghu Chong goes to the Plum Villa and saves Ren Woxing (Ren Yingying's father). But because of that, he gets himself into trouble. The fourth leader, Wen Tailai, is arrested by Zhang Zhaozhong, a lackey of the court. To rescue Wen Tailai, Chen Jialuo, the chief of the Red Flower Society, with the other heroes follows the trail of Zhang Zhaozhong, and accidentally discovered that the Emperor Qianlong is actually a Han Chinese. After several setbacks, the heroes managed to rescue Wen Tailai and devastated Zhang Zhaozhong. Heart-broken, Chen Jialuo and the other heroes break into the palace and start a fierce battle.
During the reign of the Qianlong Emperor of Qing dynasty, a good number of heroes gathers at the Red Flower Society, a Jiangnan martial arts organization aiming to overthrow the Qing Government. Chen Jialuo, their chief, discovers that the emperor Qianlong is actually his elder brother. Qianlong comes to Jiangnan and meets his brother. Chen Jialuo tries his best to persuade Qianlong to revive the Han people and Qianlong reluctantly agrees and swears an oath of alliance with the heroes. However, the emperor breaks his promise and is secretly planning to lure the Red Flower Society into a trap and destroy them. The Red Flower Society and the Qing court are finally in combat and fight a bloody battle.
In the late Southern Song dynasty, Yang Guo, the son of Yang Kang, is sent to Quanzhen Sect to learn martial arts by Guo Jing.
