Alexander McCall Smith involved with Scottish education
21 Jul 2010
Alexander McCall Smith will be involved in talks about Scottish education.
Alexander McCall Smith, author of
the Dog Who Came in from the Cold, will be involved in a number of Engage for Education events.
A series of talks will be taking place in Inverurie, Alloa and Benbecula, over the coming months and more are scheduled to be announced, reports Timeplan.
Engage for Education has been launched to give parents, teachers and other interested parties the opportunity to voice their opinions about the country's new Curriculum for Excellence.
Michael Russell, education secretary, told the news provider: "There is always room for improvement and I believe listening to the views of teachers, parents and others who care about education is an important part of finding out what more can be done."
Smith has supported the new curriculum, which will be rolled out at the end of the year, ever since it was first announced.
Earlier this month,
the Dog Who Came in from the Cold author, met Scottish teachers to help them develop the curriculum.
