Romance novelist enjoys success in the US.
New Zealand author Natalie Anderson has enjoyed great success in the US with her novel
Ruthless Boss, Royal Mistress.
The book recently featured in USA Today's top 150 books sold over the New Year, following the paper's incorporation of romance novels in the list, according to the New Zealand based web-magazine Stuff.
Ms Anderson's book placed 108th, with the author notably delighted at sharing a place alongside notables such as Stephen King and JK Rowling.
She went on to say that one of the biggest influences on her literary career was, perhaps unusually, her grandmother.
Ms Anderson told the news provider: "My grandmother lived with us when I was growing up and she was a voracious reader of everything and she used to read a lot of Mills and Boons and I would read them, too.
"I liked the romance novels because they were fun and entertaining and there was happiness in them. I like the happy ever after stories."
Natalie Anderson has written a number of other books, including
Hot Boss, Boardroom Mistress.
