Winner of the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year Award 2012 and the RNA Romantic Comedy Novel Award 2012.

Sarah Broadhurst's comment...

'“My congratulations to Jane Lovering for winning the Romantic Novel of the Year with Please Don’t Stop the Music (Choc Lit), a fresh and compulsive page-turner with an interestingly different hero and lots of past drama interestingly drip-fed to us in a lovely read”.

And from The judges as a whole:

“It was a narrow choice between Please Don’t Stop the Music and The Kashmir Shawl by Rosie Thomas, but Jane’s voice was fresh and new with an unexpected hero. It was a romance with dark undertones and it engaged with issues a lot of people recognise. Good humour throughout.”

The Lovereading view...

This racy, good-fun book entices you into the main characters in the first few pages. Then it gallops through their relationship and the revelations of their troubled pasts at such a pace that you won't realise how quickly your own time has passed as you read this delightful book. On one level, easy and approachable, on another deep and meaningful, you will enjoy meeting these characters and you will want to know more about them. Well worth reading.

Choc Lit, the publisher of this novel, was the 2012 Publisher of the Year as voted for by the Festival of Romance.

If you like Jane Lovering you might also like to read books by Tanya Huff, Tate Hallaway and Mary Janice Davidson.

But Ben has secrets too. When Jemima finds out he used to be the front man of hugely successful Indie rock band Willow Down, she wants to know more. Why did he desert the band on their US tour? Why is he now a semi-recluse? And the curiosity is mutual - which means that her own secret is no longer safe ...

About the Author

Jane Lovering

Jane Lovering was born in Devon but, following extradition procedures, now lives in Yorkshire. She has five children, four cats, two dogs and doesn’t believe in housework so the the bacteria and dust are approaching sentience and now rank among the pets. Incidentally, she doesn’t believe in ironing either, and the children all learned self-defensive cookery at early ages. She works in a local school and also teaches creative writing, which are extreme ways of avoiding the washing up. Jane is a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association and has a first class honours degree in creative writing.

Her debut Please Don’t Stop the Music won the 2012 Romantic Novel of the Year and the Best Romantic Comedy Novel award from the Romantic Novelists’ Association.

Jane writes romantic comedies which are often described as ‘quirky’. One day she’s going to find out what that means. To find out more, visit www.janelovering.co.uk
