Interestingly different style for this lovely author who starts by introducing us to her four main characters through the voice of each one. They link, entwine and react over a few years and the book closes with a chapter on each again. Freya is good at writing about sex and does so here but not as often as in previous books. In many ways her story has grown up as indeed she must have too, and the emotional descriptions are fantastic. It’s an absorbing, satisfying read, strangely unpredictable.
