Maxim Jakubowski's view...

August 2011 Book of the Month.

A Maxim Jakubowski Great Female Crime Sleuth.

DC MAEVE KERRIGAN - Maeve is an ambitious but initially experienced detective constable keen to make her mark on the murder task force and has appeared in three impressive psychological thrillers so far. The plots she has to unravel are impeccably weaved and unfold dexterously while maintaining a strong sense of place and a compulsive, menacing atmosphere. Driven by a strong sense of justice, she is a character younger female readers will find easy to identify with. Definitely one for the future.

The Lovereading view...

The Reckoning is an incredibly satisfying psychological thriller from the bestselling author of THE MISSING and THE BURNING.  Compulsive and menacing it once again features Maeve Kerrigan, a
young Anglo-Irish detective serving in the Met's murder squad.

Jane Casey's debut novel THE MISSING was shortlisted for the IRISH CRIME NOVEL OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Synopsis

The Reckoning by Jane Casey

To the public, he's a hero: a killer who targets convicted paedophiles. Two men are dead already - tortured to death. Even the police don't regard the cases as a priority. Most feel that two dead paedophiles is a step in the right direction. But to DC Maeve Kerrigan, no one should be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
